AI-generated ID photos — can you actually use them?
Short answer: 🤚 No. Here is why.
1. It breaks the legal requirement
An ID photo must be a real photograph taken within the last six months.

Photos edited, composited or generated with AI make it hard to identify you, which defeats the purpose of an ID. If it is caught during issuance it is grounds for rejection, and for passports it can lead to denied entry or detention at immigration.

Apps such as SNOW explicitly state their photos cannot be used for identification.
